How to strengthening concrete beam by CFRP

Carbon fibers are bonded to the surface of components by matching bonding materials, so that the carbon fibers can bear tension, coordinate with the deformation of concrete and work together.

Beam strengthening by carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) fabric.

Carbon fibers are bonded to the surface of components by matching bonding materials, so that the carbon fibers can bear tension, coordinate with the deformation of concrete and work together. Carbon fibre sheet should be extended to the edge of the support when flexural reinforcement is carried out in the positive bending moment zone of the beam and slab. The U-shaped hoop or transverse strip of CFRP should be set on both sides of the action point of concentrated load. In the extension length range of CFRP sheet, a strip perpendicular to the direction of CFRP is usually set. In the design specification, the width of the strip should be greater than or equal to 0.6 times the width of the beam and 0.5 times the thickness of the carbon sheet at the bottom of the beam.
